A Deep Bowl on a Rounded Base
The Olive Bowl Planter is a wide low vessel from our Urban Planters range, with straight walls curving under at the bottom so it sits like a bowl set down on the ground.
Soft Shoulders, Plain Rim
The wall rises straight and finishes at a thin rim, no collar and no lip. Lower down it rolls inward on a generous curve, leaving a small flat foot underneath. That single curve is the whole design, and it is what stops a bowl planter at this scale from looking like a bin.
From the side the silhouette is nearly a half-circle with the top sliced off, which is why it works as a modern outdoor planter beside clean architecture without feeling cold.
White Sand and Laterite Grey
White Sand is a warm off-white with fine speckling up close. Laterite Grey is a mid concrete tone flecked darker, closer to cast stone. Both are matte and lightly textured rather than glossy, so a large ceramic planter in either color holds its surface against stucco, timber, and gravel. Each is finished by hand, so tone varies between pieces, and we can send photos before shipping.
Buy the Pair or the Larger Piece Alone
The set pairs a smaller bowl with a larger one, the arrangement shown here: two side by side, one planted, one bare. You can also take the larger size alone. Buying two large planters or sets takes ten percent off, so a large outdoor planter costs less when you commit to the grouping.
Where It Belongs
Along a concrete walkway, at the corner of a patio, flanking a garage bay, or in a gravel bed among grasses. As a large bowl planter the width gives roots room to spread, which suits a multi-stem olive, dwarf citrus, or clipped boxwood. Planted as an outdoor bowl planter with low grasses it reads softer, and set as a decorative outdoor planter with nothing in it the form holds on its own. Browse the rest of our urban planters, or compare the textured Rustic Sphere Planter.
Know More About Olive Bowl Planter
Does it have drainage?
Does it have drainage?
Yes. Our outdoor planters come with drain holes, so you can fill with soil and plant directly. On a deck or sealed patio, add pot feet to keep the hole clear and water from pooling underneath.
What plants suit a wide shallow bowl?
What plants suit a wide shallow bowl?
Anything that roots sideways rather than down. Olive, boxwood, dwarf citrus, grasses, agave, and mixed succulents all work. Avoid deep taprooted trees, which want depth over width.
Should I buy the set or a single?
Should I buy the set or a single?
Buy the set if they will sit together, since the size step does the composition for you. Take the single large if you need one statement piece to pair with a pot you already own.
Can it stay out all winter?
Can it stay out all winter?
In most climates, yes. Keep it raised on feet so the base drains, and in hard-freeze regions avoid leaving soil to freeze solid inside any handcrafted outdoor planter.
