Jewel Self-Watering Planter

The self-watering plant has a separate section like a reservoir that is filled with water. The soil in separate section takes the required water supply from time to time and remains moist. The water reaches to plant from the soil and ensures proper nourishment of the plant. A filled reservoir can supply the water the plants for days depending upon the need of the plant and season.

Many plants can dwell and develop in the self-watering planters but speaking ideally, it is not suitable for “all” of them. Self-watering planters provide moist from below the soil which supplies the water to the plants from bottom of the roots. Plants like cacti and succulent that prefer the drier condition. Also, the plants that need too much moisture may not do well since the watering come from below the soil. The plants like vegetables, herbs, annuals, and perennials among many do the best in the self-watering planters.

You can simply empty the water container section and wash it. You can use soapy water and rinse it as well. Ensure to clean it properly and dry it if possible to avoid the Mold and algae from growing in the container. Also, keep examining the drainage system to avoid any blockage due to rubbish.

Only when it needs. There is a gauge or window showing a water level and when you cannot see water, it is time to refill. Another supporting method is to dip your finger into the soil and if the soil feels dry, you should dry it. If it still has moisture, you should wait. Please note that different plants need different amount of water in the different seasons. Hence, checking the water level and soil moisture is important before refilling the water.
